Robert K. Lewis, Jr., CFRE
Robert K. Lewis, Jr., CFRE, has enjoyed careers in institutional advancement and public affairs for more than 29 years. He received his bachelor’s degree from Centre College, his master’s degree in international affairs from George Washington University and has earned designation as a Certified Fund Raising Executive from CFRE International. His first career was as a public affairs officer in the United States Navy, where he served in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He also served as the chief spokesman for the Naval Academy for five years and in Washington for six years. His final position was as Assistant Chief of Information of the Navy. Building upon his Navy experience, he worked ten years in institutional advancement for Centre College, Virginia Tech, for Host Communications as a senior vice president and as president of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
Since he founded Global Advancement in 1991, the company has provided fundraising and campaign counsel to regional, national and international clients. He served two years as president of the Bluegrass Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Lewis graduated in 1995 from the Executive Leadership Institute in Philanthropy at Indiana University and in 1998 from the Executive Management Institute at the Owen Graduate School of Vanderbilt University. He is listed in the 2015 editions of Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World.
